VU invites artists working in photo-based art to submit an exhibition project. Send us your submission by mail before January 15 and September 15 of each year. It should include:

- 20 visual documents of recent work
(Mac compatible 72 ppi jpeg files - max 1024 x 768 pixels - RGB)
- your résumé
- any other relevant document
- a stamped return envelope if you want your submission back
VU / 523 De Saint-Vallier Est Québec (Québec) G1K 3P9 - 418-640-2585
Selected projects will be included in our 2010-11 exhibition program.
Since 1981, VU has been dedicated to the promotion and development of contemporary photography. Its principal mandate is to support artistic enquiry and production in the field of photography. VU is one of ten members of the Méduse cooperative.
VU offers artist residencies for Quebec artists working in photography or who wish to experiment with the medium. The centre gives preference to novel proposals which involve technical explorations and new paths of enquiry. The projects of artists admitted to a residency will be presented to the public in a solo exhibition at VU.
Residency provides the artist with unrestricted access to its equipment for a period of two weeks and includes accommodation when necessary. Artists receive a $1,000 credit for their expenses in our production facilities. These facilities have a complete range of equipment, including scanners, large-format inkjet printers and darkrooms. Technical support is provided by a team of professionals.
*** Please note that you can rent our equipment or have images printed without submitting a proposal. You can contact VU's production facilities at 418-640-2558.
