Jocelyn Robert works in sound art, video, computer-generated art, performance and installation, in addition to being a writer. Numerous solo exhibitions of his work have been held, and he has given concerts, performances and manoeuvres in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Chile, Australia and Europe. His writing has appeared in books published by Le Quartanier (Montreal), Ohm Éditions (Quebec City), Errant Bodies Press (Los Angeles), Semiotext(e) (New York) and in various event catalogues. In 2002 he shared first prize in the Image category at the Transmediale festival in Berlin and in 2006 received the Conseil de la culture de Québec's Rayonnement international award. He is a founding member and artistic director of Avatar and lives in Quebec City, where he teaches at Université Laval's École des arts visuels.
