Marie-Josée Laframboise holds a master's degree in fine arts from Concordia University and the Glasgow School of Art. She is known for her in situ installations, which investigate and redefine space by subjecting it to configurations and entanglements which generate interferences. Her work has been exhibited in several solo and group shows in Canada and abroad, including France, Switzerland, Germany and Austria, and has been shown at the Musée d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain in Nice (Infiltration, 2006) and the Southern Alberta Art Gallery in Lethbridge (2008). This year, the Musée d'art de Joliette is also organising a solo exhibition of her work. Marie-Josée Laframboise lives and works in Montreal, where she is represented by the Pierre-François Ouellette art contemporain gallery.
Marie-Josée Laframboise benefited from an artist's residency at Centre VU for the creation of Liaisons linéaires.
