Yan Giguère was born in Disraeli in 1968 and lives and works in Montreal, where he is coordinator of the woodworking shop at the Clark centre. Giguère has been presenting us his singular photographs, with their intimist and contemplative imaginary world, for the past dozen years. Some of his major solo exhibitions include Chavirer at VOX and VU in 2001 and 2002 respectively, Bienvenue at B-312 in 2002 and Choisir at Occurrence in 2007. His work has been shown in numerous group exhibitions, including The Frame, the Setting, the Site: Images of Contemporary Quebec Photography at the Centro de la Imagen in Mexico City and Comment on devient artiste at the Maison de la culture du Plateau Mont-Royal in Montreal. Yan Giguère's will be included in the upcoming exhibition La photographie hantée par la photographie spirite at the Musée régional de Rimouski.
