Reno Salvail (1947) lives in L'Ange-Gardien near Quebec City. He holds a doctorate in visual arts and art sciences from the Université de Provence. His work has been seen widely in Quebec and Europe over the past few years, in particular in solo exhibitions in the French cities Marseille, Digne and Toulon. Photography, installation and Land Art are employed in his journeys of exploration which join the mythological with the telluric. Les Rivières de feu was created in the course of interventions on volcanoes in northern Quebec and in Kamchatka, Siberia and Tierre del Fuego, Chile. Reno Salvail recently published Le Passage de la Grande Ourse with Éditions J'ai VU.
