Alana Riley lives and works in Montreal, where she obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in visual art and photography at Concordia University in 2003. In her work, she explores the theme of portrait photography while incorporating performance. Adopting both documentary and conceptual approaches, she calls into question the concept of identity. She recently presented Systèmes révélateurs at the Musée d'art contemporain de Baie-Saint-Paul. Her work has been included in several group exhibitions, including You don't really like music, do you? (Projects 381, Toronto), Déjà vu! (Musée Régional de Rimouski) and Portraits (National Arts Club, New York). She is currently a member of the board of directors of Dazibao in Montreal.
