Dean Baldwin holds a master's degree in fine arts from Concordia University in Montreal and lives and works in Toronto. Many of his works reveal an interest in a rigorous or even obsessive documentation of everyday physical activities. Attempt at an Inventory was shown at Katharine Mulherin Contemporary Art Projects (Toronto, 2007) and included in the publication Food (Alphabet City, 2008). In 2007, his video installation The Cooked Book (Harbourfront Centre, Toronto Images Festival) also addressed the theme of food through the prism of excess. Dean Baldwin's work has been seen in solo and group exhibitions in Canada and abroad in places such as Japan and Yugoslavia. In 2009 he was awarded the International Residencies program from the Canada Council for the Arts in London, UK.
