Sylvie Larouche lives and works in Quebec City, where she is studying for a bachelor's degree in social services at Université Laval. She is a graduate of the photography program of the Matane CEGEP and holds bachelor's and master's degrees in visual arts from Université Laval. Her approach to photography is resolutely humanist and she sees her artistic practice as a form of social intervention. Sylvie Larouche's portraits of marginal figures have been exhibited at the Tzara gallery in Quebec City, the Arts Sutton gallery in Sutton and in Havana, Cuba as part of the group exhibition Arte de Quebec en La Habana.
