Scott Conarroe holds a master's degree from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design of Halifax (2005) and divides his time between Toronto and Keremeos. His photographic landscapes celebrate the beauty of living and recreational spaces and relate contemporary human occupation of the land in a lucid and paradoxically Romantic manner. In 2009 his solo exhibition By Rail was presented at the Stephen Bulger Gallery in Toronto and at the Art Gallery of Windsor and in 2011 his work By Sea was presented at Light Work in Syracuse. His work has also been shown in group exhibitions, including those at the Spencer Brownstone Gallery in New York in 2006, the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art in Toronto in 2008, and The Gallery Soho in London in 2008. In 2010 he presented his work in the Canadian pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo and he was artist-in-residence at Villa Straüli in Winterthur. In 2010 he was included among Photo District News's top 30 emerging photographers and in 2011 he received the Duke and Duchess of York Prize in Photography.
