6* Émissaires_Québec réinventée par la photographie actuelle

6*ÉMISSAIRES brings together six artists invited by VU to carry out a photographic mission on Quebec City. The artists took their inspiration from those features which contribute to the city's identity to create innovative works that explore photography's transformative power over the urban landscape. Multiple themes and approaches are taken up, merging history and the present day, the real and the imaginary, the document and the work of art. Quebec City, a photogenic city if ever there was one, finds in this project a different kind of image than that promoted by tourism and official views. Our goal was to give rise to the creation of works of art capable of enriching our collective imagination and of producing a new visual history of the city.
