Carlos & Jason Sanchez

Jason and Carlos Sanchez, two young artists living in Montreal, studied at Concordia University: the latter in photography and the former in interdisciplinary studies. The elaborate mise en scène found in their work is a sign of their fascination with the anxiety and unease that the banality of everyday life produces. Their work has already been the subject of major exhibitions both in Canada and abroad, at venues such as the Foam_Fotografiemuseum in Amsterdam, the Neuer Berliner Kunstverein in Berlin, the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal, the Musée d'art moderne et d'art contemporain de Nice, the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec and the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art in Toronto. They have also participated in numerous international contemporary art fairs since 2002. They are represented by the Christopher Cutts Gallery in Toronto and the Claire Oliver Gallery in New York.
