A self-taught photographer and nurse by trade, Hélène Valenzuela lives in Lormont, France. She won first prize in France in the Europe-wide competition One Vision on the topic of AIDS and exhibited her work in 2004 at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Helsinki, Finland and the House of Commons in London. She also participated in Dak'Art 2006, a contemporary art biennial in Senegal. Hélène Valenzuela recently won the competition of the magazine VIS A VIS on line on the theme of "The Elderly" With its remarkable sensitivity, Tomorrow - like many other of her series - creates an intimate and confident image of the relationship between caregiver and patient, between the photographer and the person being photographed.
