Pascal Dufaux lives and works in Montreal, where he studied stage design and visual art at Concordia University. He divides his time between stage design, in particular for technological opera, and multidisciplinary art with a focus on media art. He has been exhibiting his hybrid work for more than fifteen years in Quebec and abroad. In 2004 his exhibition Substance verte was presented at Action Art Actuel in Saint Jean-sur-Richelieu; this project was created during an artist's residency at Oboro in Montreal. His work has also been exhibited at the Universidad de Guanajuato's Espacio de arte in Mexico, at Galleria Otso in Espoo, Finland and at the Fondation Christoph-Merian's Ateliers IAAB in Basel, Switzerland.
Pascal Dufaux benefited from an artist's residency at Centre VU for the creation of Autour de vous.

Most of the panoptical portraits in the exhibition Autour de vous are taken from a photographic catalogue of 88 people created for ATLAS, an audio and video installation project carried out in collaboration with the composer Christian Calon. ATLAS was produced with financial assistance from the Canada Council for the Arts.
