In 2001, VU organised Vertige de l'évidence, an event which brought together a hundred artists, invited to work in pairs and groups. Twelve Quebec City artists participated, teaming up with an artist from elsewhere with the goal of creating new works to be shown in galleries and in the city. The catalogue for the event captures all the landmark events of the second Année photographique à Québec. The book's analytical texts and detailed presentations of the works document eight exhibitions, six in situ installations, six projects by participating organisations and a collective work produced and distributed on-line. The principal text, a dialogue between the art historian Lisanne Nadeau and the philosopher Gilbert Boss, examines the implications of collective creation through a discussion of the artists' works and their own writing project.
